Quipol Blog: It's Not All or Nothing

Wired.com: At the end of the day you’re still zero for three; you have so far failed to put a rocket into orbit.

Elon Musk: We haven’t gotten into orbit, true, but we’ve made considerable progress. If it’s an all-or-nothing proposition then we’ve failed. But it’s not all or nothing. We must get…

    Be there.

Sometimes being there is all that the teams needs to get shit done. Be that leader. Be there.

    Fear.

We fear. We “what if” ourselves to death. We never take action and embrace the bumps, bruises and crashes that WILL occur when we move forward in reckless pursuit of our dreams.

The only way to grow is to get hurt. Understanding this is crucial to moving forward.

Palm trees grow exponentially after a hurrican beats the shit out of them.

Be like the Palm tree and lean into the blows. Take solace in the fact that you are on a path of growth.

    Metaphors

Metaphors are extremely power productivity tools. Metaphors have helped me in many ways get though hard times, tackle hard problems and accomplish goals. If you can say to yourself ”This situation is like this like this game, story, poem, historical situation” You will be able to see the situation from a different angle, and find new ways to move forward.

“The professional endures adversity. He lets the birdshit splash down on this slicker, remembering that it comes clean with a heavy-duty hosing. He himself, his creative center, cannot be buried, even beneath a mountain of guano. His core is bulletproof. Nothing can touch it unless he lets it.”

The past few days I had the incredible opportunity to go to South by Southwest in Austin. As I decompress this experience I am taken back by a few lessons.
1. Be Human/Be Authentic
2. Solving peoples/organizations fears = profits
3. Changing the world is hard. Embrace small wins, because success breeds more success.
Thank you to everyone I had the privilege of connecting with the past few days. Let’s change the world!

It’s been a long time.. (shouldn’t have left you)

I hate it when people say, “Oh, I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to write posts in my blog.” This is not an excuse. I have had time and have let the resistance in my brain take over. Get ready for curated content. And in the meantime check out joshuamillage.tv
